Five weeks ago, there was a flurry of five stories about Jennifer Lopez dating Bradley Cooper. This week, a second smaller flurry of three stories talks about the new couple. Now they are supposed to be a couple, which allegedly brings heartbreak to Sandra Bullock, who has been romantically linked to Reynolds in several stories that both of them have denied. Blake's brief romance with Leonardo DiCaprio is also mentioned. Here are the headlines.

There are some exceptions to this and the most notable if 2011 is Ryan Reynolds, who divorced Scarlett Johannson late last year. He has been on the covers of the supermarket rags more often than she has. The latest alleged love for Reynolds is Olivia Wilde, his co-star from The Change-Up. Here are the headlines.

There's a new spin-off of the Bachelor called Bachelor Pad. I know nothing about it except that it's a bunch of guys and a bunch of girls who I assume had been on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Two of them by the names of Holly and Blake decided to get together. I do not know anything about them and have little interest in learning more.
Going online, I see that the show's finale is either already happened or happening soon. For my taste, it can't be soon enough.

The Globe runs with a cover story that Paul McCartney and Doris Day had a love affair some 46 years ago. You can read the conversation Sir Paul had with Miss Day online from earlier this month that says he was a fan back in the day, an interview published by the reputable Telegraph from the U.K. No mention of fluid transfer is made.
The good news in this dishonest headline is that at least they aren't trying to bury Miss Day, which is the usual headline in the supermarket rags.

Fresh trash... on Wednesdays? Yes, all but two of The Only Ten Magazines That Matter have online presence, so I can check out the covers today, and one story hit all the covers of the non-AMI mags. Jennifer Lopez and Bradley Cooper were seen dining together, and though their representatives say it was business, the gossip rags are having a field day. Here are the headlines.

Besides this story getting five mentions and two of them implying that Jennifer is only doing this to get back at her cheating spouse, my favorite detail is OK! being delusional enough to think this story is an exclusive. The picture I nicked is from TMZ.com, which published this story back on Sunday.

People is one of the most positive of the supermarket rags, trailing only OK! in the percentage of positive to negative stories. Both of these cheery publications achieve this by going all Pollyanna from time to time, as People does this week by recounting the romantic successes of reality TV shows. Many of their happy couples met on shows like Survivor or The Amazing Race, but the cover picture is of the great (only?) success of The Bachelor franchise, Ryan and Trista Sutter, who met on The Bachelorette back in 2003, got hitched and are still together.
I give my best wishes to the happy couple, but this story is kind of like someone shilling for the tobacco industry stating the correct fact that some people smoke all their lives and they don't die of lung cancer, emphysema or congestive heart disease.

Us Weekly printed a story two months ago that the couple was back together, and now they write a follow-up about how she forgave him, and allegedly there was a lot to forgive. I have found some confirmation online that they have been seen together recently.
