BLACK and WHITE BEDDING SETS

GO HERE FOR MORE!

Black and white bedding of some kind is always in style. The trend may be black and white dots, plaid stripes, toile fabrics or whatever there's no denying that you can't go wrong with white and black no matter how hard you try. There are even stylish decorating opportunities for teens using this combo.

Pick up a set of ultra-contemporary bedding with a black and white futuristic design and see where it takes you. Besides comforters with dark backgrounds are much better than pale pastels like pink for hiding those pesky little marks from ballpoint pens and the occasional encounter with mascara and makeup that are very common in teenage girls bedrooms.

The only problem with black and white bedding is that doesn't provide any real inspiration or decorating ideas for your teenage girl's bedroom so you will have to wing it on choosing the best colors to brighten things up a bit.

You might take a lighter approach when it comes to accent colors for tween and preteen bedrooms and use decorations in powder pink, lavender or blue. Once they enter the teenage years, get ready to field requests for hot pink, orange or neon blue. The older the girl, the more bold and funky they want their bedrooms to be.

Here are some ways you can jazz up your black and white bedding:

• Big Red Satin Pillows (think lips)
• Retro 60s Hippie Style Flowers
• Tie Dye Pillows and decorative accessories

There are not enough cheap bedding and comforters for teens so we have to take what's available and make it cute, funky and teen worthy!

CHERRY BEDDING - BLOSSOMS and RED FRUITY FABRICS

Red, black and white are popular color schemes in lots of different bedding fabric patterns, but now I'm seeing black and white checks intermingled with lucious red cherries! Who would've ever dreamed that fruit print fabrics would migrate from kitchens to teen bedding? Any ideas on how to work with fruity teenage bedroom decorations?

Is the tropical headdress of the Copa Cabana coming back? Will we be decorating with bowls of bananas, grapes and cherries? Strange and just a little disturbing. I was always taught not to take food out of the kitchen!

COOL and COMFORTABLE COLLEGE DORM BEDDING and FURNITURE

Seems like yesterday that you had a pretty preteen. Then sassy lady hit her teens and now you are gathering dorm room bedding and furniture. How exciting...but scary and disturbing at the same time.

What's the best kind of bedding to get for a college dorm room? Dorm room bedding should be easy to clean and as gross as it sounds; the fabric shouldn't show stains. She's going to wag it home every weekend in the duffle bag with the other stuff that got nasty through the week but there could be several days between the spilled salsa and a trip home. Cheap bedding and comforters for teens come in great colors, patterns and designs so if the coverlet doesn't make it through Christmas vacation, no sweat.

College dorm furniture should have the same qualities as the bedding sets we recommended: cheap, indestructible and capable of hiding a few mistakes in judgement.

Here are some comfortable ottomans or floor cushions that will make the college dorm seem like home. A cute little happy going away to college gift would be if you sent these little pretties through the mail with a note saying that you are sending her "LOVE AND KISSES"....and a place to sit other than on the bed!

This ottoman cover strips right off for a quick trip home to be run through the laundry.

Get it? The heart shaped ottoman is for the love you are sending your college freshman and the ottoman shaped like lips is for kisses from the folks at home!
